LinkedIn content calendar template and the scheduling queue

A content calendar is the list of posts you intend to publish. A scheduling queue is the list a product will actually send. The search mixes them because a spreadsheet with dates does not post, and a queue with no plan sends whatever draft you finished last.

Boykli has the second object. On Schedule, Queue Schedule stores posting days, one Time of Day, and one timezone. Each item you add takes the next open slot. Drag changes which draft gets which date. There is no theme column, no per-row clock, and no company Page. The template in this page is the planning sheet you keep beside that queue. It is not a screen inside the app.

The hour-by-hour day that fills one row of this sheet — one source, one draft, a preview, then the next open slot — is the LinkedIn content creator workflow. The queue lives on boykli.com after a paid seat. Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm with no plan. Writing, carousels, Post to LinkedIn, and Add to Queue do not run until a seat can generate. BYOK is $29/month with your own OpenRouter key for chat and images, and a Google AI Studio key if you use Voice Agent. Boykli does not add a monthly generation cap on that seat. Managed is $88/month and includes the platform models inside caps: 210 posts, 150 carousels, 150 images, 25 Voice Agent sessions, and 130 post refinements. Both seats use the same queue. Prices are the public list as of 25 October 2026.

How far aheadAs far as the sheetPersonal posts are commonly described as about 10 minutes to 3 months; company Pages often start later and end at the same mark. A plan that is not written yet should stay on the sheetThe product's own limit

The native window is what current walkthroughs of LinkedIn's composer describe. Boykli's publisher is a different mechanism: it sends the post through the LinkedIn connection you approved, one due item at a time, and it skips the user when the token is unusable, when no weekday is selected, when the timezone was never saved, or when the account no longer has a generatable plan. How that authorized send differs from a browser tool that posts for you is in Automated LinkedIn posting. The shorter product description of the queue is LinkedIn scheduling tool. The free composer versus the paid seat is in Schedule LinkedIn posts.

The template, with columns the queue can honor

Copy this header. Six columns. If a column does not change what you will click in Boykli, delete it. Pillar names, campaign codes, and "awareness / consideration / conversion" do not change the slot.

Rules that keep the sheet honest:

  • Order is the calendar. You do not type 26 October into Boykli. You add item 1 first. It takes the next open slot. Item 2 takes the one after that. If you drag item 3 above item 1, the dates move with the order. Update the sheet after you drag, or the sheet is fiction.
  • One time cell for the whole sheet. Write it once, above the table: days, clock, IANA timezone (America/Chicago, not "Central"). A new Boykli queue starts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00, with the timezone of the device until you click Save.
  • Source is mandatory. The model is instructed to use what you provide. A row that says "thought leadership on pricing" and nothing else produces a post you should not ship. Which founder shapes are worth a row is in LinkedIn post ideas for founders.
  • Status has three values. Idea means the row is only on the sheet. Drafted means the post or carousel exists in Boykli and you have read it. Queued means the row is visible on Schedule. A green cell in a spreadsheet is not queued.
  • A series is one row per part. Add Series to Queue places 2 to 10 parts, each on its own next slot, each up to 8,000 characters. A series of four on a three-day week consumes more than a week. Reserve those rows before you add anything after it.
  • Company Page rows stay on the sheet. The queue publishes the personal profile from LinkedIn OAuth. Paste Page rows into LinkedIn yourself, or into a tool built for Pages.

A filled two-week sheet

Assume the queue is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 09:30 in America/Chicago, and today is Sunday 25 October 2026. Nothing is queued yet. The next open slot is Monday 26 October at 09:30.

Row 6 is a hold on purpose. A content calendar that demands a result post before the result exists is how drafts invent numbers. Leave the row on the sheet. Do not add it to the queue.

Row 2 is a carousel, not a second caption of row 1. The document title is required when you queue it. The caption is the feed text, up to 3,000 characters. Slide counts in the product are 2 to 8. Square is 1080×1080 and portrait is 1080×1350. How those files are built is in LinkedIn carousel generator.

Pick the one clock before you fill dates

The sheet's dates are a prediction from three saved settings. Change any of them and every future row moves.

  1. Choose the audience timezone, which may not be the laptop. A founder in India posting for US operators should save America/New_York or America/Chicago, then click Save. The slot is that zone even if you open the app later from somewhere else.
  2. Choose days you will actually fill. Three days is a full sheet of six posts across two weeks. Seven days with no source notes is a queue of filler. A reading of the 2026 public datasets, and why a single midweek afternoon is a sane default to test, is in Best time to post on LinkedIn. Which weekday to keep when the week has to shrink, for a buyer who forwards during the work week versus a creator scoring against their own typical post, is in best day to post on LinkedIn. Boykli will not read your impressions and move the clock.
  3. Choose one time. If Thursday at 07:00 and Thursday at 19:00 both matter, those two posts use LinkedIn's clock. The Boykli queue cannot represent them. Put only the repeating slot on the sheet you intend to load.
  4. Save, then read the page. Zero days and the queue is inactive. If items are already queued, Schedule asks you to confirm, because turning off every day pauses auto-publish. A missing timezone blocks new items until you open Schedule and click Save.

Do this once. Rewriting the clock every Sunday means the template's dates were never real.

Load one sheet into the queue

This is the Sunday pass for the table above. Skip a step and the queue API refuses the item, or you publish a row you have not read.

1. Seat, keys, profile

Create the account on boykli.com and check out in Settings. On BYOK, save the OpenRouter key before you write. Google AI Studio is only for Voice Agent on that seat, including a YouTube watch when the video has no captions. Managed never uses those keys. BYOK never uses Boykli's platform keys. There is no silent switch.

On Schedule, the header shows Connect LinkedIn until OAuth succeeds, then LinkedIn Active. The token is the personal profile you authorize. If it later says Reconnect LinkedIn, queued rows stay and nothing goes out.

2. Save the queue that matches the sheet header

Posting days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Time of Day: 09:30. Timezone: America/Chicago. Click Save. The whole queue shares that clock. Why the product was scoped as writing plus this queue, rather than a general social calendar, is in building Boykli.

3. Write row 1 from the note, then read it

Create posts, medium length. Paste the note with both numbers and the date of the decision. Turn on a hook only if you want alternate first lines from that note. Edit the hook, the body, and the close. Add to Queue waits until the draft has an id. A cover image on the draft is sent with the post when one exists.

The draft is now status drafted on your sheet. It is not queued until the next click.

4. Add row 1, then build row 2 before you add anything else

Add to Queue on the medium post. It takes Monday 26 October, 09:30. If that same post is already queued, the app asks before it adds another copy. Confirming adds a second slot. It does not edit the first row in place.

Build the carousel from the same note. Pick the design (Neo-Brutalist is the default). Set the document title. Write the caption as the commentary, not as a paste of every slide. Add to Queue on the carousel. It takes Wednesday 28 October. On Managed, that generation counts toward the 150 carousel cap. On BYOK it counts toward the provider bill. Scheduling a file that already exists does not call the model again.

5. Add rows 3, 4, and 5 in sheet order

Short post from the support sentence, medium post on how the counter works, short post on the feature you cut. Add each one after you have read it. They take Friday 30 October, Monday 2 November, and Wednesday 4 November. Row 6 stays Hold. Posts ahead should read 5. Scheduled through should read Wednesday 4 November at 09:30 in the saved zone.

6. Reorder only when the sheet should change

If you want the carousel to lead the week, drag it above the Monday text. The carousel takes Monday 26 October. The text posts shift one slot later. Friday 6 November is still empty, because you did not queue a sixth item. Rewrite the Slot column. Leaving the old dates in the sheet is how you double-book a story you already told.

7. Use Post to LinkedIn only for "now"

The queue is for the days you are not at the keyboard. A correction, an outage, or a post that has to leave before 09:30 uses Post to LinkedIn. That button does not consume the next calendar slot. If you also leave the same draft queued, you will publish it twice. Remove the queued copy.

8. Monday check, not a new calendar

On Monday, open Schedule. If the header is Reconnect LinkedIn, fix the token before 09:30. If a row failed, send it back to queued so the next pass retries that slot. Do not invent a replacement post in the same hour unless the failed one should not go out. The publisher takes the earliest queued item whose time has arrived. A cancellation that still has current_period_end in the future still has access. on_hold and an expired cancel do not, and due posts are skipped until a plan exists again.

Calendar habits that fight this queue

A different time on every row. The queue will ignore that column. Either collapse to one time, or schedule the odd rows in LinkedIn's composer and keep Boykli for the repeating slot.

Themes with no source. "Motivational Monday" is not a note. Status stays Idea until the source cell has a fact you can stand behind.

Filling seven days because the template has seven columns. Cadence is the days you toggled, not a guru's weekly grid. Five posts that repeat one claim train people to skip the name. Three posts from one decision, on separate days, is a complete sheet.

Marking a row scheduled inside Notion. Notion does not call LinkedIn. Status flips to queued when the item is on Schedule and Scheduled through moved.

Planning a series as one cell. Four parts occupy four slots. The posts you thought were "next week" land the week after. Count parts before you promise dates to a collaborator.

Loading row 6 early. The hold exists so the Friday arithmetic post cannot ship a forecast. Write it after the week closes, then add it. It takes the next open slot from the moment you add it, not the date you dreamed in October, if earlier rows already slipped.

FAQ

Is this template a feature inside Boykli?

No. Boykli does not ship a content-calendar document, a pillar picker, or a Kanban of ideas. Library stores pieces you made in the app. The ideas list can fill an idea field. Schedule stores the queue. The table above is yours to keep in a sheet, a note, or on paper. The product publishes the queue.

Can each calendar row have its own time?

No. Days, one time of day, and one timezone define every slot. Order decides the date. Posts that need a one-off time stay on LinkedIn's clock.

How far ahead can I plan?

The sheet can run as far as you want. The two-hour sitting that turns a month of source notes into this queue — one clock, sixteen read drafts, empty days left empty — is Batch scheduling 30 days of LinkedIn content. Only queue rows whose draft exists and that you have read. Boykli keeps those rows and publishes when the slot time arrives, through the connected personal profile. That is not the same as LinkedIn's composer, which people currently describe as topping out around three months. Do not treat a six-month queue of unfinished ideas as a calendar. Unwritten rows belong on the sheet with status Idea.

Will the queue post to my company Page?

No. OAuth is the personal profile you connect. Put Page rows in the sheet if you need the reminder, and publish them from LinkedIn as the Page.

What do I pay to run this?

The sheet is free and does not post. LinkedIn's own clock is free for posts the composer will schedule. Boykli's queue requires a paid seat: BYOK at $29/month plus your provider bills, or Managed at $88/month inside the caps above. An AppSumo lifetime code redeemed at /redeem is a BYOK seat, one code for one account, and an existing paid seat blocks redeem. It is not a free scheduler.

What if I cancel in the middle of the two weeks?

Access continues until current_period_end if that date is still ahead. After that, and while a payment is on_hold, the publisher skips due posts. The rows are not a promise that LinkedIn will receive them without a generatable plan. Move anything that must leave onto LinkedIn's clock before the period ends.

Does reordering break the calendar?

It updates the calendar. The slot is "nth open weekday," not a date glued to the draft. After a drag, change the Slot column to match Scheduled through and the order on the page. Collaborators who only have the old sheet will expect the wrong post on Monday.

Can I queue a post that is still an idea?

Not usefully. Add to Queue needs a saved draft, a queue with at least one weekday and a stored timezone, a connected LinkedIn account, and a generatable plan. A carousel also needs a saved file and a document title. Generate from the source cell first. If the source cell is empty, you are scheduling a guess.
