LinkedIn brand kit: templates, colors, typography, and layouts

A LinkedIn brand kit is the set of colors, marks, and layout rules that make a document post look like one person wrote it. On Boykli that kit lives on the carousel page, in the Brand Kit tab next to the form. It stores two hex colors, a logo, a profile photo, and a handle. Typography and layout are the other half of the same page: a type ramp locked to a 1080-wide canvas, and eight named designs. There is no catalog of fill-in templates.

LinkedIn itself does not store a brand kit for a document post. You upload one file. The feed paginates it. The look is whatever is inside the PDF. This page is how Boykli puts that look in the file before the upload.

How a topic becomes the PDF is LinkedIn carousel generator. The pixel canvas those colors sit on is LinkedIn carousel dimensions. A Canva Brand Kit, which also stores fonts, is the neighboring comparison in Canva vs a dedicated LinkedIn carousel generator.

What the kit stores

One account holds one kit. Saving writes a single row for that user. A second save updates the same row. There is no client stack and no per-campaign kit.

Upload returns a public URL. It does not write the kit. Save Brand Kit is the write. The create button stays disabled while the tab has an unsaved change, and the label reads "Save Brand Kit First." A deck does not render against colors you have not stored.

The UI fallback swatches, used when you add a color that was empty, are amber #f59e0b for accent and white #ffffff for canvas. Those are starting points in the picker. They are not applied until you save them.

Colors, and why they lock one layout

Accent and canvas are instructions to the model, then a check after the HTML comes back.

On Normal, canvas is the background of every slide, including the cover. Accent is reserved for the small loud parts: a call-to-action, a keyword, a badge, a bar. Body type stays a contrast color against the canvas. A light canvas gets dark type. A dark canvas gets light type. If the model still paints white type on a light field, a pass after generation rewrites that color to #111111.

Split-Screen is the exception inside the prompt, and it only matters when brand colors are off, because colors-on forces Normal before the model runs. With colors off, a canvas value would have been one column, and the other column a different hue. With colors on, you do not get that split. You get a full-bleed Normal field in your canvas color.

The lock is intentional. Neo-Brutalist, Bauhaus, Retro Terminal, Bold & Edgy, Creator Gradient, Infographic / Data Guide, and Split-Screen each carry their own palette. Mixing your hex into a terminal green or a Bauhaus red/yellow/blue triad produces a muddy deck. The Brand Kit tab says so: custom colors work with Normal, and logo plus profile still work with every design. If colors are included and at least one hex is saved, the design menu disables the other seven. The server repeats the same rule. A request that sends brand colors and asks for Neo-Brutalist is created as Normal.

Leaving both hex fields empty, or turning Include in carousel off for colors, keeps the full design list. Logo and handle still inject.

With no kit at all, the prompt forbids a fake @handle, a fake logo, and the placeholder @YOURBRAND. An empty kit does not invent a brand.

Templates, kits, and named layouts

People search "brand kit templates" because Canva, Supergrow, and similar editors sell a kit plus a gallery of frames you fill. Boykli splits those two ideas. The kit is identity. The layout is one of eight designs the model draws into, not a frame you type into.

Supergrow's kit, including stored fonts, is described on Supergrow alternative. If the work is nudging text boxes on a saved master, that editor is the instrument built for it. If the work is "here is the argument, keep my colors and my handle, draw a new deck," the Boykli kit is the instrument built for it.

Typography on a 1080-wide slide

The kit does not store a font family. Type is a ramp, shared by every design, because every design is 1080 pixels wide. Padding is 60 pixels, so the text column is 960 pixels wide before any design splits it.

RoleSize on the 1080 canvasWeight the designs push toward
Body21–26px. Never under 21pxReadable. Normal asks for a clean sans. Neo-Brutalist asks for 600–800, not a thin weight
Labels and captions20–28pxSupporting, not the headline
Section headings32–48pxA clear step down from the title
Slide headline48–80px. Over about 20 characters, 56px or underNormal: 700–800. Neo-Brutalist: 900, tight tracking
Stat callout64–100px. Infographic rules cite about 72px at weight 800One number, then the label

Density is capped at about five bullets or four cards. A sixth bullet is a new slide, not a smaller font. Overflow is hidden, so a line that does not fit is clipped.

Each design names a type character on top of that ramp:

  • Normal. Clean modern sans. Full-width stacks. This is the face your canvas and accent are built for.
  • Neo-Brutalist. Blocky, heavy headings. Hard black frames (4px solid #000) and a hard offset shadow (6px 6px 0 #000). Flat fills such as cream, yellow, red, and cyan. The default when colors are off.
  • Bauhaus Design. Geometric sans, short lines. Type sits in a zone that does not overlap the shapes. Palettes lean to a red, yellow, and blue poster triad.
  • Retro Terminal. Monospace, green (#39ff14) or amber, on #0c0c0c, inside a fake terminal chrome.
  • Infographic / Data Guide. Modern sans, huge stats, cards with a 12px radius and a hairline border.
  • Bold & Edgy. High-impact headlines and short lines. Dramatic contrast.
  • Creator Gradient. Smooth gradients, a friendlier modern face.
  • Split-Screen. Two columns at 50% width, each with its own background and its own contrast color. A headline does not cross the divider.

The author strip is a second type system, injected after the model finishes. The badge uses a system stack: -apple-system, Segoe UI, Roboto. The handle is 26px, weight 600, white, on a dark translucent pill. It does not inherit Impact, monospace, or the slide's display face. That is deliberate. A 26px system label stays a label on a terminal slide and on a Bauhaus slide.

The PDF renderer adds a system sans fallback and Noto Color Emoji so an emoji does not become an empty box. A Google Fonts link the model emits is kept. The ramp above is still the size contract. A webfont does not change the 21px floor.

The badge and the logo sit in the bottom band. When either is included, the bottom 220 pixels of every slide is a reserved safe zone. Cover headlines stay above it. The geometry of that band, and why portrait adds 270 pixels of height above it, is on the dimensions page.

Layouts, as the product actually ships them

A "template" in this product is a design name plus a ratio. The quiet version, one canvas and one accent so the file does not match a shared free pack, is minimalist LinkedIn carousel templates that look custom.

NormalFull-width stacks or a 50/50 grid inside the 60px pad. No empty right halfYour canvas and accent, or a calm neutral if you left colors offThis is the design

Ratio is independent of the kit. Square is 1080×1080. Portrait is 1080×1350. Slide count is 2 to 8. The default is 5. The model picker is Grok 4.6, Gemini 3.5 Flash, Claude Sonnet 5, or GPT-5.6 Terra. Tone is Normal or Humor, and it changes the copy, not the kit.

Slides are HTML and CSS: type, shapes, gradients, SVG. The generator does not place a photograph inside the content. The logo and the profile photo are the only images, and they are stamped into the corners after the HTML exists. A product photo is a separate image generation, not a slide.

A kit you can ship this afternoon

Use one real deck. The outline is short so the colors are the thing you are judging.

Cover: the support reply we send when a deploy fails. Slide 2: we name the failing check in the first sentence. Slide 3: we give the command, then the expected output. Slide 4: we say who to ping if the command fails. Close: copy the order, not our wording. No invented stats.

  1. Open the carousel page and switch to Brand Kit. Set canvas to the background you actually use, for example a warm off-white #f7f4ef. Set accent to one color you already use on the site, for example #655efd. Turn Include in carousel on for colors.
  2. Upload the logo and the profile photo. Keep the logo a mark with transparent padding. It is contained in a 160×160 box, so a wide wordmark shrinks to fit. Type the handle the way it should read on the slide, at most 80 characters. Leave both include-toggles on.
  3. Press Save Brand Kit. Wait until the button says Saved. The create button on the other tab stays blocked until this write finishes.
  4. Switch to Carousel. Paste the outline. Tone: Normal. Ratio: Portrait, because each middle slide is two short lines and the 220px band still has to stay empty. Design: the menu will already be on Normal, with the other seven disabled. Model: Grok 4.6 unless you have a reason to switch. Slides: 5.
  5. Create the carousel. Read every slide before you care about the colors. A number that was not in the outline does not belong. Fix it by editing the topic and creating again. There is no per-box editor.
  6. Check the corners. The badge is bottom-left. The logo is bottom-right. They should not cover a headline. If they do, the model violated the safe zone. Run it again, or shorten the cover line. The handle should be yours. If the strip shows a name you did not type, colors and identity were not the kit you saved.
  7. Check contrast in the preview. Accent on a button should still have a readable label. Canvas should be the field, not a random second background on slide 3.
  8. Set the document title (stored up to 120 characters; the prompt aims for about 4 to 10 words) and the caption (up to 3,000 characters). Download the PDF, post it now, or queue it. Publishing uses the personal profile you connected. Company pages are outside the product.

To see the same outline in Neo-Brutalist, turn color inclusion off, save again, and pick Neo-Brutalist. Leave the logo and the author strip on. You get the hard frames and the yellows of that design, plus your mark and your handle. That is the split the tab describes: colors choose Normal, identity travels.

What the server adds after the model

The model is told not to draw the logo, the handle, or the photo. The server removes any badge or logo the model drew anyway, then appends the official ones to every .slide.

The badge is a pill: 14px by 26px of padding, at least 72px tall, sitting 40px from the bottom and 40px from the left. Its max width is the slide minus 220px, so it stops before the logo. The handle ellipsizes inside a 420px cap. The logo is the same 40px inset on the right.

Those overlays are why the safe zone exists. Copy in that band collides with a pill the model never saw while it was writing.

Colors travel as a prompt, not as a CSS variable the renderer paints blindly. The model is instructed to use them. The contrast pass only corrects the clear failure of light type on a light field. A muddy accent you chose yourself is still your accent. #f59e0b on #f7f4ef is a weak button. Pick an accent that survives the canvas, then save.

URLs are checked before they are injected. A logo or photo that is not a public http or https address is dropped. A private or unsafe host is dropped the same way. The deck still generates. It generates without that image.

FAQ

Do I pick a font in the brand kit?

No font menu is in the kit. You pick canvas, accent, logo, photo, and handle. Type size follows the ramp above. Type character follows the design: heavy sans on Neo-Brutalist, monospace on Retro Terminal, a clean sans on Normal. The author strip is always the system stack at 26px.

Why can't I use my colors on Neo-Brutalist?

Those designs ship with their own palettes. Brand colors retarget the request to Normal so the canvas and the accent are the field and the highlight, instead of a second palette fighting the first. Logo and author strip stay available on Neo-Brutalist when colors are off.

Can I have two kits, one for a client?

One kit per account. A second brand means a second account, with its own login and its own personal LinkedIn profile. There is no workspace switcher.

What if I only want the logo?

Turn color inclusion off, turn the author strip off, leave the logo on, and save. Any of the eight designs stays available. The bottom 220px is still reserved, because the logo is an overlay.

Will the kit appear on text posts?

The kit is applied when you create a carousel. A text post from Create posts does not stamp the logo or the canvas color into the commentary. LinkedIn text styling is a separate surface, covered in LinkedIn text formatter.

What does a seat cost, and is the kit on both?

BYOK is $29 a month. You bring an OpenRouter key for chat and images. Boykli does not add a generation cap on that seat. Managed is $88 a month and includes 150 carousel generations inside the monthly caps. Both seats use the same carousel page and the same kit. Writing, creating a carousel, and publishing require a paid seat. Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm without one.

Can I change the logo after the post is live?

Save a new logo for the next deck. LinkedIn does not let you replace the document inside a post that is already up. A new mark is a new PDF and a new post. The description of the live post can still be edited.
