LinkedIn post draft manager and queue organization
A LinkedIn post draft manager is the place unfinished posts live. A queue is the order those posts leave. Mixing the two is how a founder ships the wrong draft on Monday: the chat tab still has last week's version, a notes app says "ready," and the scheduler is holding a caption that was copied before the edit.
Boykli splits the job into two screens. Library stores every post, Voice Agent draft, and carousel you created. Schedule stores the items you explicitly added, in the order they will publish to the personal profile you connected. There are no folders, no tags, no approval column, and no shared workspace. Organization is the tab, the type, the date window, and the drag order on the queue.
Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm with no plan. Writing, carousels, images, Voice Agent, Post to LinkedIn, and Add to Queue need a paid seat. BYOK is $29 a month: your OpenRouter key for chat and images, and a Google AI Studio key for Voice Agent. Boykli does not add a monthly generation cap on that seat. Managed is $88 a month and includes the platform models inside caps: 210 posts, 150 carousels, 150 images, 25 Voice Agent sessions, and 130 post refinements. Both seats use the same Library and the same queue. Prices are the public list on boykli.com as of 26 October 2026.
The planning sheet you keep beside the queue, if you want dates written down before you click, is the LinkedIn content calendar. The hour that produces one draft and then one queue row is the LinkedIn content creator workflow. This page is the filing system those two assume.
Where a draft actually sits
| A notes app or chat transcript | LinkedIn's composer | Boykli Library | Boykli Schedule queue | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it holds | Whatever you pasted, including versions you already rejected | The post you are composing right now | Every post, Voice Agent draft, and carousel on the account | Only items you added, still waiting or in the act of publishing |
| How you find one | Search, or scroll | Open the composer again | Three tabs. Type pills and a date window on Posts. Date window on Voice Agent. Aspect, design, and date on Carousels | Drag order. Posts ahead and Scheduled through |
| Does editing change a future publish? | Only if you copy the new text into the tool that will send it | Yes, for the post open in front of you | A text draft is the row the queue points at. The publisher reads that row when the slot fires | The queue does not keep a second copy of a normal text post |
| Can the same item be queued twice? | You can paste it twice | You can schedule it once in that composer | The Library row stays after you queue it | A second add returns "already in your schedule queue" unless you force it |
| Who it publishes as | Nobody | The profile or Page you are composing as | Nobody. Library does not send | The personal profile from LinkedIn OAuth. Company Pages are not a destination |
The composer is a fine place to finish one post. It is a poor filing cabinet. A quarter of drafts, three Voice Agent sessions, and a carousel you are still renaming do not fit in one open box. The Library is that cabinet. The queue is the departure board.
How the Library is organized
Open Library. The header counts In library: posts plus Voice Agent drafts plus carousels. The count is the whole account, not the filter you have open.
Three tabs:
- Posts. Text you wrote on Create posts: short (labeled 45–400 characters), medium (400–1,400), long (1,400–3,000), YouTube, article, series, document, and posts that carry an image. Pills filter to one of those types. A date menu narrows to the last day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, or All Time.
- Voice Agent. Drafts from a live interview. The same date menu. No type pills. A session can return more than one draft. Each one you kept is a row you can open, edit, publish, or queue on its own.
- Carousels. Square (1:1) or portrait (4:5), plus the design you used (Neo-Brutalist, Bauhaus, and the rest of the gallery). The date menu is the same window. The document title and the caption live on the carousel, not in a separate notes file.
Filters are a view. Clearing them puts the full tab back. There is no "archive" status that hides a draft from All Time. If you do not want it, delete it. If you might post it later, leave it. A draft you have not read is still in the count.
Edits save on the same row. The editor shows saving, then saved. That write replaces the body and clears the version list on that post. There is no side-by-side history of every regeneration inside the Library card. If you need the previous wording, it has to still be somewhere you control, or you regenerate. The product is built so the row you are looking at is the row a later publish will use.
How the queue is organized
Schedule is a different object. Queue Schedule stores the weekdays you toggle, one Time of Day, and one timezone. A new queue starts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00, in the timezone of the device, and nothing is stored until you click Save. You cannot give Monday 08:30 and Friday 17:00. The hour is one hour for every row.
After that, order is the calendar:
- Each Add to Queue takes the next open weekday from today forward, at the saved time, in the saved timezone.
- Drag moves which draft gets the earlier slot. The page can save an order of up to 200 items.
- Posts ahead is the count still waiting. Scheduled through is the last slot. If those two disagree with the sheet you keep, the sheet is wrong.
- Remove a row you would not sign. The Library copy remains unless you delete it there too.
- Adding the same post again, while it is queued or publishing, returns a conflict: "This post is already in your schedule queue." A series and a carousel get the same refusal for that item. Forcing the add is an explicit override, not the normal click.
A series is the exception to "one row, one slot." Add Series to Queue needs 2 to 10 parts. Each part is copied into its own post, capped at 8,000 characters, and placed on its own next slot. A four-part series on a three-day week consumes more than a week of the queue. Check Posts ahead before you add it.
The queue row itself has a status the Library does not show: queued, publishing, published, or failed. The Schedule list is the waiting and in-flight rows. A failed send can go back to queued. Five failed attempts and that row stops retrying, so a dead token does not hammer LinkedIn. The publisher also skips the account when the token is unusable, when no weekday is selected, when the timezone was never saved, or when the seat can no longer generate. A cancelled seat with current_period_end still in the future can still publish. on_hold and an expired cancel cannot.
The shorter description of that clock is the LinkedIn scheduling tool. Why the send is an authorized API post, and why a browser that posts for you is a different risk, is automated LinkedIn posting.
File the draft, then set the order
Library holds every draft. Schedule publishes the personal profile on one clock. BYOK is $29/month. Managed is $88/month.
boykli.com →What an edit changes after the item is queued
This is the part that loses posts. People edit the Library and assume the queue froze the old text, or they edit a doc and assume the queue will notice.
| Kind of item | What the queue stores | What the publisher reads at the slot | What to do if you change your mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal text post | A pointer to that Library row | The current body of that row. If a version list still exists, the last version wins; a Library save clears that list and writes the body | Edit the draft in Library. The next send uses the save. Deleting the Library row makes the slot fail: the queued post is missing its content |
| Series | A new row per part, copied when you clicked Add | Those copied parts, not the parent you might edit later | Edit the part that is on the queue, or remove the parts and add the series again |
| Carousel | A light reference: the carousel id, plus the caption captured at add time | The PDF and the document title from the carousel as it is when the slot fires. The caption prefers the one stored on the queue reference; the carousel's current caption is the fallback when that stored caption is empty | Title and slide changes on the carousel are what get rendered. A caption you rewrite after queueing does not replace a caption already stored. Remove and add again if the caption must change |
Post to LinkedIn is immediate. It is the wrong button for a pile. Five drafts and five clicks of Post publish five times today. Queue is the button that assigns slots.
Preview is still your job before either button. Boykli does not draw the LinkedIn feed or place a "see more" marker in the editor. The phone crop and the desktop crop are a separate check, written up in LinkedIn post preview.
A worked cleanup: eleven drafts, one queue
Assume it is Sunday 26 October 2026. The queue is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 09:30 in America/Chicago. Posts ahead is 0. Library shows 11 items from a messy month. The goal is three posts for the coming week and a pile that you can find again.
- Posts tab, Last 7 Days, All Types. Four items. Open each. Two are the same decision written twice (a medium post and a long post about a free-tier cap). Keep the medium. Delete the long one if it adds no fact the medium lacks. The third is a YouTube draft whose video is not public yet. Leave it in the Library. Do not queue it. The fourth is a series of four parts. Read all four. If you would sign them, they are a candidate for later in this list, and they will occupy four slots.
- Voice Agent tab, Last 14 Days. Two sessions. One transcript produced a draft that states a number you measured. Keep that draft. The other ends on a closer you would not say. Delete it or leave it unqueued. Voice drafts follow the same rule as typed drafts: the transcript is the source, and a sentence that was not in the session does not get a slot.
- Carousels tab, Last 1 Month, Square. Three decks. One has a document title. Two say some version of "Untitled." Open the untitled ones. Either set a real document title and a caption of at most 3,000 characters, or delete them. A carousel without a title is not queue-ready. Slide counts in the product are 2 to 8. Square is 1080×1080. Portrait is 1080×1350.
- Decide the week's order on paper or in your head, then in the product. Monday: the medium post about the cap. Wednesday: the Voice draft with the measured number. Friday: the square carousel of the same cap change, with a caption that is not a paste of every slide. The series stays in the Library until a week where four slots are free. Queueing it now would push Friday's carousel into the following week and fill Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the Monday after.
- Add to Queue in that order. Monday's post first, then Wednesday's, then the carousel. Read Posts ahead (3) and Scheduled through (Friday 30 October 2026 at 09:30 in
America/Chicago). Drag only if you added them in the wrong order. - Try to add Monday's post again. You should get the already-queued conflict. That is the manager working. The Library still shows the post. The queue shows it once.
- Edit Monday's first line so both numbers are in the opening. Save. Because it is a normal text post, that save is what leaves on Monday. Then stop. Do not also paste a "fixed" copy into a doc and forget which one is live.
The same week, if you keep the content-calendar sheet, its status column should move to Queued only after step 5. A green cell in a spreadsheet is not a slot.
Rules that keep the two lists honest
- Library order is "when you created it," filtered. It is not priority. Priority is queue order.
- One source per draft you intend to queue. A row with no note, no URL, and no transcript is a draft you should delete or rewrite before it earns a slot. The model is instructed to stay inside what you supplied. An empty prompt produces a post you should not sign.
- Do not use the chat history as the manager. Create posts writes into the Library. If the only copy is a provider tab, you do not have a draft in Boykli, and the queue cannot point at it.
- Do not queue to remember. The Library already remembers. The queue publishes. A draft you are unsure about stays on the Posts tab under All Time.
- Company Page copy stays out of this queue. The connection is the member profile. Page scheduling is a different product, described in the personal profile scheduler.
- A missing plan stops the departure, not the filing. You can look at Radar and Algorithm without a seat. You cannot add to the queue, and a seat that can no longer generate will not be published by the cron.
FAQ
Does Boykli have folders, tags, or an approval workflow?
No. Posts, Voice Agent, and Carousels are the three piles. Type, design, aspect, and the date window are the filters. If a teammate has to approve the wording, that approval happens in the draft itself: they edit, or you edit, and the saved body is the body. There is no "pending review" status and no second seat on the same Library.
If I queue a post, does it disappear from the Library?
No. Queueing adds a Schedule row that points at the post (or, for a series, points at the parts copied at that moment). The Library card remains. Deleting the Library card of a normal text post removes the content the slot needs. The publish then fails because the queued post has no generated content.
Can I set a different time for each draft?
Not on this queue. One Time of Day, the weekdays you saved, one timezone. A post that must leave at a different hour uses Post to LinkedIn at that hour, or LinkedIn's own composer clock for that single post. Drag changes the day, by changing which open weekday the draft sits on. It does not change the clock.
What does "already in your schedule queue" mean?
That post, series, or carousel already has a row in queued or publishing. The second click is rejected so you do not occupy two slots with one draft. Remove the existing row if you want to place it again, or leave it and edit the text in the Library.
Will a caption edit on a carousel update the queued post?
The PDF and the document title are read from the carousel when the slot fires, so slide and title edits are picked up. The caption prefers the text stored when you added the carousel to the queue. Rewriting the caption afterward does not replace that stored caption. Remove the queue row and add the carousel again if the feed text must change.
Which plan includes the draft manager?
Both paid seats. BYOK is $29 a month and bills your providers for generation. Managed is $88 a month with the caps above. Browsing Radar and Algorithm is available without a seat. The Library fills when you write, and writing requires a seat that can generate. AppSumo BYOK lifetime is a code redeem, not a third queue.
Keep drafts in the Library and order on the queue
One personal profile, one time of day, drag to set which draft leaves first.
