Taplio vs AuthoredUp

Taplio and AuthoredUp both sit on a creator's LinkedIn week, and they are not the same product. Taplio is a growth suite: a viral-post library, AI writing on the higher plans, a scheduler, analytics, comments, and, on Pro, lead outreach. AuthoredUp is an editor and a measurement layer: styled text, a real feed preview, a Chrome extension, scheduling, and analytics on the posts you already wrote. Creators search "Taplio vs AuthoredUp" when a demo of one tool started to look like the other and the invoice did not.

This page is the feature comparison. Prices are from Taplio's pricing page and AuthoredUp's pricing page on 26 October 2026. Recheck both before you buy. Plan cards move.

Boykli is a third product, named where the job is producing the draft, a carousel, or an image and then queueing it on a personal profile. It is not a cheaper copy of either suite. The narrower write-ups are Taplio alternative and AuthoredUp alternative.

What you are actually buying

A solo creator usually has one bottleneck. Name it before you compare logos.

  • The draft does not exist yet. You have a call, a note, a video, or a document, and Monday is empty.
  • The draft exists, and the LinkedIn box is the problem: no bold, no lists, no honest picture of the "see more" fold on a phone.
  • The posts go out, and you cannot see which ones moved: impressions, saves, sends, or a time of day that is yours rather than a blog's average.
  • You want other people's posts as a swipe file, plus comments, plus a list of people who engaged.

Taplio's plan cards answer the fourth job, and part of the first, once you leave Starter. AuthoredUp answers the second and the third on every paid plan. Neither card is "everything a creator does on LinkedIn."

AuthoredUp Individual is the cheaper seat if you already write. Taplio Starter at $39 is more than AuthoredUp Individual and, on Taplio's own plan card, does not include AI writing. Taplio Growth at $69 is where the plan card first says "write viral posts with AI." Taplio Pro at $199 is the lead-outreach card. A creator comparing $19.95 with $69 is comparing an editor to an AI-and-comments plan, not two editions of the same app.

Full feature comparison

Taplio's public comparison table is long. Where a row is metered, the table shows 250 AI credits and 500 comment credits against an unlimited column. That lines up with Growth versus Pro. Starter's plan card lists scheduling, analytics, and consistency, and it does not list AI writing. Treat blank AI rows on Starter as absent until Taplio's page says otherwise.

AuthoredUp's detailed table marks the writing, preview, scheduling, and analytics rows on both Individual and Business. Business is where draft collaboration, team analytics, and organization roles start.

Two rows decide most solo-creator purchases. If you need the fold preview and a save/send report, AuthoredUp has them on Individual and Taplio's Starter card does not claim that preview. If you need a viral library, AI drafts, and a comment workflow, that is Taplio Growth or Pro, and AuthoredUp's Coauthor beta is not that system.

The same week, in three products

Boykli's public seats are BYOK at $29/month and Managed at $88/month. Both seats are the same product. Managed includes monthly caps: 210 posts, 150 carousels, 150 images, 25 Voice Agent sessions, and 130 post refinements. BYOK uses your OpenRouter key for chat and images and your Google AI Studio key for Voice Agent. Boykli does not add a generation cap on that seat. You still pay those providers. A paid seat is required before the app will write, create a carousel or image, publish, or schedule. Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm without one.

A practical way to choose

Do this with last month's actual work, not with the feature list you might use.

  1. Export or screenshot one week of what you did in the tool you pay for now. Count drafts you originated, posts you only formatted, carousels, comments you sent, and any DM or connection-request list.
  2. If the count is mostly formatting, preview, and a look at impressions, price AuthoredUp Individual at $19.95 (or $16.63 yearly) against the habit. Taplio Starter at $39 adds a scheduler and core analytics on its card, and it does not add the fold preview AuthoredUp is built around. Paying Growth at $69 for a preview you can have at $19.95 is the expensive version of the same job.
  3. If the count is mostly "I still need the words," open Taplio's Growth card ($69, 250 AI credits on the comparison table) next to Boykli's $29 and $88 seats. Taplio's words are tied to its viral library and its credit meter. Boykli's words start from your material: a note, Voice Agent, a YouTube video, an article, a document, or a series. The constraint is intentional. The longer version is why Boykli was built.
  4. If the count includes comment credits, lead lists, auto-DM, or connection requests, stay on the Taplio plan that lists them. AuthoredUp will not replace that outreach stack. Boykli will not either. Automated comments, bulk DMs, and connection requests are a different risk category from a queue that publishes one approved post. What LinkedIn has published about automated activity on the website is in automated LinkedIn posting. Read that before you treat any vendor's "safe automation" line as a guarantee.
  5. If the post has to go out as a company page or into a group, AuthoredUp's extension calendar is the row that states it. Boykli schedules the personal profile you connect. Taplio's public plan cards, as read for this page, do not claim a company-page scheduler. Confirm on their site if a page is the whole point.
  6. If you want both an editor and a generator, split the jobs on purpose. Write and queue in the tool that produces the draft. Do the bold, the lists, and the phone fold in AuthoredUp, which is the editor that shows them. Paying three subscriptions so each one can "also" do the others' job is how the stack gets expensive without getting finished.

A clean solo stack is one of these: AuthoredUp Individual when you write and you want the preview and the stats; Taplio Growth or Pro when the viral library, AI credits, comments, or leads are the reason for the invoice; Boykli when the hour disappears before a draft and a carousel exist, and you will put your name on the result.

What each analytics screen is for

Creators blur these. They are different screens.

AuthoredUp's analytics are about your account. The pricing table lists follower growth against the posts that caused it, this period versus the last (posts, impressions, reactions, comments, engagement rate, as total, average, and median), and your best type, day, length, and readability. Advanced metrics include saves, sends, reach, profile views, and followers gained. You can compare two posts, export CSV, and pull an API. The best-time heatmap is trained on your history. Company pages get their own dashboard.

Taplio's Starter card says "track core metrics with analytics." The comparison table adds a monthly stats email, analytics inside the extension, and repurposing a top post from the analytics tab using AI credits. That is a performance loop attached to the growth suite. It is not documented on that page as AuthoredUp's save/send split or as a readability grade.

Boykli does not show impressions, saves, sends, or a best-time model. The Algorithm page explains LinkedIn's public distribution notes. Radar is a feed of articles you can start a draft from. It is not a database of viral LinkedIn posts, and it is not your stats. If the subscription feels worth it on Monday because of a chart, Boykli is the wrong seat. Use AuthoredUp for that chart, or Taplio if the chart has to live next to comments and the viral library.

Scheduling is the overlap that still is not the same

All three can put a post on a clock. The mechanism differs.

Taplio's comparison table lists post scheduling, a queue you define, and spreading posts across days and months. That is the product people mean when they say Taplio is a scheduler plus more.

AuthoredUp schedules through the Chrome extension. The calendar shows the profile, company pages, and groups. Reminders cover both the publish time and coming back to the comments. If the extension is not available when the slot arrives, that is an AuthoredUp constraint to confirm in their help center, not a detail to assume away.

Boykli publishes to the personal profile you connect with LinkedIn OAuth, at the days and the time you save. It does not comment, like, connect, or message. It does not pick the hour from your analytics, because it does not have them. You reorder the queue yourself.

FAQ

Is Taplio or AuthoredUp better for a solo creator?

AuthoredUp Individual, at $19.95 a month or $16.63 billed yearly, is the better fit when you write the posts and you want styling, the "see more" preview, snippets, hooks, a scheduler, and analytics on one profile. Taplio is the better fit when you want the viral post library, AI drafts, comment credits, or Pro's lead outreach. Starter at $39 does not, on its plan card, include the AI writing people assume is in every Taplio login.

Does Taplio include the same preview as AuthoredUp?

AuthoredUp's pricing table lists a multi-device preview, light and dark, including the fold, on Individual and Business. Taplio lists Unicode text formatting. Those are different features. A bold line in the composer is not a picture of the phone feed. If the fold is why you are shopping, read the preview as AuthoredUp's feature and confirm anything similar on Taplio's current app before you drop the editor.

Can I get AI writing on both?

Taplio Growth meters AI (the comparison table shows 250 credits on that column; Pro is unlimited). The generators cover ideas, posts, improvements, images, and carousels. AuthoredUp lists Coauthor as closed beta, with credits on every plan and more as an add-on. It is an assistant inside an editor, not Taplio's credit bundle, and not Boykli's write modes. Confirm the current Coauthor rules on AuthoredUp's site if you are counting on a fixed number of posts per week from it.

Which one posts to a company page?

AuthoredUp states it: unlimited company pages on every plan, no per-page charge, schedule as the page through the extension, plus group posts. Boykli is the personal profile only. Taplio's plan cards reviewed for this article lead with personal-profile scheduling, analytics, AI, comments, and leads. If a company page is a requirement, verify it on Taplio's current help docs rather than assuming the scheduler covers it.

Does either one replace a carousel designer?

Taplio lists an AI carousel generator on the AI-credit rows. That is generation inside Taplio, metered on Growth. AuthoredUp lets you attach a document, video, or image. It does not apply a brand kit across a slide system. Boykli builds the carousel PDF on the carousel page from the brand kit (canvas, accent, logo, handle) and publishes that PDF with the personal-profile post. If the deck is the work product, compare that builder with Taplio's generator on the plan you would actually be on. AuthoredUp remains the place you attach a PDF you already finished.

What does Boykli cost next to these two?

BYOK is $29 a month. Managed is $88 a month. AuthoredUp Individual is cheaper than both if the editor and the stats are the product. Taplio Starter at $39 is close to BYOK on sticker price and is a different feature set: scheduling and analytics on the card, without the AI writing Growth adds at $69. Managed at $88 sits under Taplio Pro at $199 and over Growth at $69. Compare the job. A $29 seat that does not include analytics, comments, or leads is a bad trade for someone who uses those every week, and a direct trade for someone whose missing piece is the draft and the carousel.

Will my Taplio lists or AuthoredUp stats move?

No. Boykli cannot import a viral-post collection, a lead list, a comment history, or an impressions archive. Export what you need from the tool you are leaving. Cancelling first, then expecting the next app to reconstruct the chart, leaves you with an empty library.

Use Boykli for the draft

Posts, carousels, images, Voice Agent, and a personal-profile queue. Formatting, analytics, comments, and leads stay on the tools that sell them.
