Turn Loom video transcripts into high-performing LinkedIn posts
A Loom is a screen recording with a transcript sitting beside the player. A high-performing LinkedIn post is a short piece of writing: one scene, one number, line breaks a phone can show before "see more." The transcript is the source. The share link is a player.
Boykli does not open loom.com/share links, embed URLs, or the MP4. Create posts writes from a core idea you paste, or from a PDF, DOCX, or MD you upload after you have cut the transcript down. The map of those write modes is LinkedIn post generator. A phone memo follows the same cut, in voice memo to a LinkedIn post. A public YouTube watch URL is a different mode, with captions or a watch, in YouTube to LinkedIn post. This page is only the Loom transcript.
Two seats can run the steps. BYOK is $29 a month. Managed is $88 a month. Prices are the public ones on boykli.com. Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm without a plan. Writing, publishing, and scheduling need a paid seat.
Five ways a Loom becomes a post
| Method | What the writer is allowed to know | What LinkedIn receives | Where it breaks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paste the share URL into LinkedIn's composer | Whatever you typed above the link | A text post, and often LinkedIn's own link card for the player | No lesson. The viewer still has to press play. No queue inside Boykli |
| Paste Loom's auto summary into a general chat and ask for "a viral post" | The summary, plus anything the chat adds | Whatever you then paste | Two compressions. The number you said at minute four is already gone, and a new statistic may have appeared |
Paste loom.com/share/… into Boykli YouTube mode or Article mode | YouTube mode rejects it before a request. Article mode fetches public page text, which on a player page is not the transcript | Nothing useful, or a draft written from a title when the body never loaded | The spoken lines never entered the prompt |
| Copy the transcript, keep one scene, paste it as a core idea | That scene: who, when, the number, the claim. At least 10 characters, and in practice a paragraph you would sign | One draft. Short, medium, or long. Grok 4.6 | A paste of the whole recording. Hedges, the second topic, and timestamps survive because the writer keeps your nouns |
| Save the cut as PDF, DOCX, or MD and use Document mode | The file, up to 7 MB and 80,000 characters, plus an optional brief that names the point | One post, aimed at 700–1,400 characters, from a single idea in the file | An SRT, a VTT, a TXT, or the MP4. The uploader accepts only those three types. An empty brief lets the model pick the "most compelling" line, which may be the aside |
The fourth row is the default when the recording already contains the scene. The fifth row is for a transcript too long to trust as a core idea. The first two rows publish something other than the words you said.
Write the post from the lines you kept
Create posts takes the cleaned transcript as a core idea or as a PDF, DOCX, or MD. BYOK is $29/month. Managed is $88/month.
boykli.com →What Loom actually puts on your clipboard
Loom's own transcription help says transcripts are on every plan, in 50 or more languages. After you record, a Transcript option sits on the side panel. The text is split into timestamps. A copy button above the transcript copies the transcript to the clipboard. A search box finds a phrase so you can jump to the minute that holds the claim.
That copy is the source. Three other objects on the same page are not.
The auto title, summary, and chapters. Loom can attach those to a video as a separate AI pass. They are a compression Loom already made. If you paste the summary into Boykli, the draft is a compression of a compression. The price, the customer count, and the step you demonstrated at minute four are the first things a summary drops. Copy the transcript lines, then cut them yourself.
The caption file. On the same help page, Download captions lives under the "…" menu above the video and saves an SRT. That download is limited to creators and admins on Business or Business + AI, and to members and admins on Enterprise. An SRT is a subtitle file: sequence numbers, clocks, and short cues. Boykli's uploader does not accept .srt, .vtt, or .txt. If you downloaded captions, open them, keep the spoken lines, and save the cut as .md or .docx.
The video file. Download, filler-word removal, and a re-upload are Loom edits of the recording. Boykli never receives the MP4. A filler-word trim on the video does not guarantee the clipboard is clean. Read the paste. If "um," "kind of," and "sorry this is rambly" are still in it, delete them. The post prompts do not treat hedges as voice.
Captions follow the transcript. If a name is wrong, correct it in Loom before you copy, or correct it in the paste. Boykli does not re-listen to the Loom audio. There is no second pass that hears the proper noun you meant.
A video with no transcript is a Loom processing problem, not a Boykli mode. Loom's own fix, on that same page, is to download the video and re-upload it so transcription can run again. After the transcript exists, you are back at the copy button. A private link, a password-protected link, or a workspace-only link is readable only while you are allowed to open it. Copy the text in that session. The share URL will not carry the words into Boykli later.
Why the share URL fails both video modes
YouTube mode accepts a URL that contains an 11-character YouTube video id: a watch link, youtu.be, an embed, a Short, or a live link. Anything else stops on the page: "Please enter a valid YouTube video URL." A Loom share link and a Loom embed link do not contain that id. They never reach a fetch.
Article mode is for a public article. The server loads the page and needs a body of real text. A Loom share page is a player. When the fetch comes back without a readable body, the API can fall through to the title, or it returns "Could not read this article. Save as PDF and use Document, or try another URL." A draft written from the title is the failure this workflow exists to avoid. The title was never the argument.
Pasting the share URL into the core-idea box has the same result as pasting any other link: the writer sees a URL, not the minutes. It will not fetch Loom.
What to strip before the writer sees it
Play the recording once, or search the transcript for the sentence you would still say on a stage. Do not paste yet. Keep four lines, using only words that appear in the transcript:
- The day or the timeframe you actually said.
- The proper nouns you are willing to publish: a tool, a price, a duration. A customer name, a Slack channel, and an internal URL usually stay off LinkedIn even when they are accurate.
- The claim, in one sentence, including the thing you think the other approach got wrong.
- The second topic. Mark it and leave it out. A six-minute Loom usually holds two posts.
Spoken waste has a shape. "Anyway," a restart halfway through a sentence, and a tour of the mouse cursor are the recorder staying on. A high-performing post keeps the noun and drops the restart. Timestamps are navigation. If the copy includes 0:41 or a cue number from an SRT, delete them. A clock is not a metric, and the writer is told to keep numbers that are in the source.
Here is a worked recording, labeled as an example, not as a Boykli incident. The Loom is six minutes. The spoken claim in the first ninety seconds: the deploy pipeline went from 11 minutes to 90 seconds after one queue rule was removed. Minute four names a customer and a private Slack channel. Minute five is "anyway, also the pricing page is confusing."
The cleaned idea is four lines:
Tuesday's deploy went from 11 minutes to 90 seconds. We removed one queue rule. The YAML change is the whole mechanism. Leave out the customer, the Slack channel, and the pricing page.
That paragraph is the post. The rest of the transcript is a different week, or it stays inside Loom.
Write it on Create posts
The cleaned idea is short enough to paste. Document mode is the wrong container for four lines.
- Open Create posts. Choose Medium when the cut is one scene with a number and a mechanism. Choose Short when the cut is a single claim and nothing else. The short prompt aims at 30 to 75 words. Choose Long only when the cleaned idea is already a full story you would sign at 250 to 500 words. Long is not "paste the six-minute transcript."
- Paste the four lines into the core idea. Under ten characters, the page stops you and asks for more context. Ten characters is a floor. "Deploy got faster" comes back generic because the prompt is told to keep your nouns, and those three words do not contain Tuesday, 11 minutes, or 90 seconds.
- Set the tone before you write. On Medium, Step-by-Step fits a sequence someone could follow. Teach & Explain fits a mechanism. Personal Story fits a scene. Humor only if the joke is already in the words you kept. A tone cannot supply a point of view the recording never reached.
- Hooks on, three variations, with the hook idea set to the two times: 11 minutes and 90 seconds. If a variation drops either number, it is the wrong line. Selecting one replaces the first line. Leave the CTA off unless the recording named a real next step. "Follow for more" is on the banned list unless your CTA line asks for it.
- Write. The model on Create posts is Grok 4.6. There is no model picker on this page. Managed Grok calls can use web search. BYOK sends the same family through OpenRouter with the web plugin. The draft is still not allowed to import a study you did not say. If a citation or a round number appears that is not in the cleaned idea, cut it.
- Spend a refinement on a specific edit. "Keep 11 minutes and 90 seconds. Drop pricing. Do not name the customer." Each draft allows two refinements. A third pass is a new write. Managed also caps refinements at 130 in the month. BYOK has no Boykli cap. You pay OpenRouter for the calls.
- Read the draft against the transcript, out loud. The first line must not start with "I". Every proper noun must match what you said. The hedges must be gone. If the draft teaches a framework you did not describe, delete the framework.
- Check the opening the way a phone feed will clamp it. Boykli does not draw the LinkedIn column. The practical test is LinkedIn post preview. Then publish or queue from the personal profile you connect with LinkedIn OAuth. Company pages are not a destination. The queue uses the weekdays, the one time of day, and the timezone you saved. How that queue behaves is in LinkedIn scheduling tool.
The reason the draft has to start from your sentence, rather than from a topic label or a Loom title, is the scope in building Boykli. You read the text before it leaves.
When the transcript is a file
Document mode is the path when the cut is still long: a cleaned chapter of a 20-minute walkthrough, not the raw copy of the whole recording. The control says "Drag and drop a PDF, DOCX, or MD." The server rejects anything else.
- File size at most 7 MB.
- Extracted text at most 80,000 characters. Over that, the API returns "max 80k characters in document allowed."
- At least 80 non-whitespace characters. Below that, the API refuses the file.
Save the cleaned transcript as loom-notes.md when you can. A Markdown file extracts exactly what you typed. A designed PDF can extract in a scrambled order, and the writer will treat that order as the argument. An SRT saved with a .md extension still contains cue numbers. Strip those before you upload. The bytes are the source.
The optional brief on that panel is real. The document prompt uses it as core_idea. Type "the queue rule and the two times, 11 minutes and 90 seconds. Drop the customer, the Slack channel, and pricing." If you leave the brief empty, the prompt tells the model to pick the single most compelling insight in the file. On a raw Loom transcript, that pick is often the aside, because a named customer sounds more dramatic than a queue rule.
The post is one idea. The prompt forbids a full summary and forbids the phrases "the document" and "this report," so the draft will not announce that it came from a transcript. Length target is 700–1,400 characters. Tones are Teach & Explain, Analytical, Step-by-Step, and Thought Leader. Personal Story is not on Document mode. If the Loom is a scene and you want that tone, use Medium and the cleaned idea. Hooks and a CTA exist on this mode, with the same on/off behavior as Medium. Two refinements. The draft counts as one post against the Managed allowance of 210 posts a month, across all seven write modes.
A 40-minute transcript uploaded whole, under the 80,000-character cap, still fails the editorial test. The writer will amplify one idea and drop the rest without telling you which minutes it ignored. Trim the file to the story you are willing to sign, then upload that.
Slides are a second create
The carousel page does not read a Loom URL, a transcript upload, or a Create posts draft. If the recording demonstrated a sequence you want people to swipe, type an outline of up to 2,000 characters. Name the steps and the numbers. Say what must not be added. The generator then designs a new PDF of 2 to 8 slides. The overview is LinkedIn carousel generator.
Do not paste the LinkedIn draft into the topic box and expect the deck to recover the minutes you withheld. The slides know the outline. Charts that appeared on the Loom screen do not become charts on the PDF. If a number matters, it has to be in the outline you typed.
The text post and the PDF are two LinkedIn objects. The caption on the document post can point at the Loom. It is a separate field. Publishing the share URL as the only line, with no lesson, puts you back in the first row of the table.
What to check before you queue
- The draft contains 11 minutes and 90 seconds, or whatever pair you actually said, spelled the way the corrected transcript spells them.
- The customer, the private channel, and the second topic are absent.
- No timestamp, cue number, or "Transcript" label survived into the post.
- The first line is a claim you would say out loud. It does not open with "I", "Here's the thing", or "Just dropped a Loom."
- You would send the same paragraph to the person who was on the recording.
Price and caps
| BYOK, $29/month | Managed, $88/month | |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaned idea or document post | Your OpenRouter key. Grok 4.6 | Boykli's platform key. Grok 4.6 |
| Posts | No Boykli monthly cap. Still two refinements on a given draft | 210 posts a month across all seven write modes. 130 refinements a month, and still two on a draft |
| Carousel PDFs | No Boykli monthly cap. You pay the provider | 150 carousels a month |
| Who can write | A paid seat. Radar and Algorithm stay readable without one | The same gate |
Document mode and the cleaned-idea path need OpenRouter on BYOK. Google AI Studio is for Voice Agent and for a YouTube video without captions. A Loom does not use that key, because Boykli never watches the Loom. Managed needs neither key. A cancelled seat keeps access until the period end. An on_hold seat and a cancel that has already expired do not. AppSumo lifetime BYOK is a code at boykli.com/redeem, one code per account. An existing paid seat blocks redeem. BYOK never uses platform keys. Managed never uses your OpenRouter key.
FAQ
Can I paste a Loom link and get a post?
No. YouTube mode requires a YouTube video id and stops on a Loom URL. Article mode fetches a public article body. A share page is a player, so the spoken lines are not in that fetch. Copy the transcript from the side panel, cut it to one scene, and paste that text, or upload the cut as a PDF, DOCX, or MD.
Does the copy button include the whole video?
Loom's transcription help says the copy button copies the transcript, and the panel is split into timestamps. It does not copy the MP4. After you paste, delete clock times, speaker labels you do not want on LinkedIn, and every topic that is a different post. Fix a misheard name in Loom, where captions follow the transcript, or fix it in the paste. The draft will inherit the text you submit.
Should I paste Loom's summary instead, because it is shorter?
The summary is already a compression. The document prompt and the medium prompt each compress again, to one idea. Start from the transcript lines that contain the number and the claim. Shorten those yourself so you choose which minute survives.
Can I upload the SRT, the VTT, or the TXT?
No. Document mode accepts a PDF, a DOCX, or an MD file, up to 7 MB and 80,000 characters, with at least 80 non-whitespace characters. Download captions, where your Loom plan offers it, is an SRT. Open that file, keep the spoken lines, strip the cue numbers, and save .md or .docx.
Will one Loom become a week of posts?
One Loom can hold several claims. Each write still takes one cleaned idea and returns one draft. Run the cut again for the next claim. Series is a different control: you paste source text and set a count from 2 to 8. It does not accept a Loom URL. A week of those drafts is a queue, described in LinkedIn content calendar.
Will the draft sound like the way I talk on camera?
It will contain the nouns you kept. It will not copy your pauses, and it will not learn a style from old LinkedIn posts or from other Looms. There is no settings page called "my voice." The distinction between a stored ghostwriter and a single source is AI LinkedIn ghostwriter. Hashtags and emoji are banned in the post prompts. Add them in Library if you want them on the published copy. The next draft will not inherit the addition.
What if the recording never states the number?
The writer is instructed to omit a statistic it does not have. That omission is the correct result. Do not ask a general chat to invent the before-and-after. Re-record the missing fact, or say it in a Voice Agent session. Voice Agent will not import the Loom file. It runs a new live interview and writes three drafts from that session's transcript only. The phone-memo version of that limit is on the voice memo page.
Can I schedule the post and still link the Loom?
Yes, as text you typed into the draft. The queue publishes the personal profile you connected. It does not upload the Loom video, attach a first comment, or post to a company page. If you also want a swipeable version of the steps, build the PDF on the carousel page and queue it as its own document.
Turn the transcript you already copied into a draft
Paste one scene on Create posts, or upload the cut as a PDF, DOCX, or MD. The Loom player stays on Loom.
