AuthoredUp vs Supergrow for LinkedIn writing and carousels

AuthoredUp and Supergrow show up in the same shortlist when someone wants LinkedIn posts and document slides without hiring a writer and a designer. They do not do the same half of that job. AuthoredUp is an editor: styled text, a feed preview, a hook library, a Chrome extension, a calendar, and analytics on the posts you already wrote. Supergrow is a writing system with a carousel maker on the same paid card: a voice profile, an interview that turns into drafts, a template deck, and a queue.

People search "AuthoredUp vs Supergrow" after a demo of one product looked like the other. The invoice does not. AuthoredUp Individual is $19.95 a month and expects you to write. Supergrow's cheapest public plan is Pro at $39 a month, and that card includes both the writing stack and the carousel maker. Comparing those two prices as two editions of one app is how this search goes wrong.

Prices on this page are from AuthoredUp's pricing page, Supergrow's pricing page, and Supergrow's carousel maker page on 26 October 2026. Recheck all three before you buy. Plan cards move. Older roundups still quote a Supergrow Starter at $19 with no carousel, and a Teams price near $139 for four accounts. Those are not the cards on Supergrow's site today.

Boykli is a third product, named where the job is producing the draft and a carousel PDF from material you already have, then queueing both on one personal profile. It is not a cheaper copy of either suite. The narrower write-ups are AuthoredUp alternative and Supergrow alternative. How Supergrow's carousel card compares with Taplio is Supergrow vs Taplio.

Two jobs hiding in one query

A solo founder usually has one bottleneck. Name it before you compare logos.

  • The sentences do not exist. You have a call, a note, a video, or a PDF, and Monday's post is blank.
  • The sentences exist, and the LinkedIn box is the problem: no bold, no lists, no honest picture of the "see more" fold on a phone.
  • The post needs a document: several slides, your colors, a logo, then a place on the calendar.
  • The posts go out, and you want a chart of impressions, saves, and sends.

AuthoredUp's plan cards answer the second and the fourth on every paid plan. The first is Coauthor, an AI assistant listed as closed beta, with credits on every plan and more as a paid add-on. The third is an attachment: you can add a document you already made. That is not a slide designer.

Supergrow's Pro card answers the first and the third in the same $39 seat, and it includes profile analytics and a weekly report. Teams, at $199 for five accounts, is the approval layer. Engage, the engagement surface, is on Pro. It is not a substitute for writing the post.

TrialFree start. The pricing page says no credit card7 days on every plan. If you do not pick a plan, they say the account pauses, with no charge and no data loss
Who the bill countsConnected LinkedIn profiles. Company pages you admin are not an extra line. Ghostwriters who do not connect a profile are not billed as profiles on BusinessLinkedIn accounts on the plan. Teams is five included, not a per-seat slider

AuthoredUp Individual is the cheaper seat if you already write and you want the preview and the stats. Supergrow Pro is almost twice that sticker, and the extra money is the writing stack plus the carousel maker, Engage, and the weekly report. A creator who only needs bold text and a phone fold is overpaying on Pro. A creator who needs the sentences and the slides is under-buying on Individual, because Coauthor is a closed beta inside an editor, not a carousel product.

Read the yearly numbers as printed. AuthoredUp's "two months off" headline is the gap between $19.95 and $16.63, and between $14.95 and $12.46 per profile. Supergrow's "save up to 20%" headline matches Pro ($39 to $31). Teams moves from $199 to $189, which is a smaller cut, and the FAQ states both figures separately.

Writing, side by side

This is the row the keyword is about. "Writing" means where the sentences come from, not whether a calendar exists.

After it is liveDashboard, period versus last, best type / day / length, saves, sends, reach, CSV, and a best-time heatmap from your own historyProfile analytics and a weekly report on Pro. Team-wide reporting starts at Teams

Two consequences follow. If the words are already yours, AuthoredUp is the writing surface: you type, you style, you see the fold, you keep snippets. Paying Supergrow Pro to get a box you will fill yourself buys Content DNA, Postcast, and a carousel maker you may not open. If the words are the bottleneck, Supergrow's interview and repurposing path is the product that states it. AuthoredUp's Coauthor beta is not a commitment you can staff a content calendar on until their pricing page takes it out of beta and publishes the credit rules.

Carousels are the split

AuthoredUp can attach a document. The pricing table lists images, GIFs, video, documents, polls, and events. Video, polls, and events publish through the extension. A document attachment is how a PDF you designed somewhere else rides along with the post. There is no template gallery, no brand kit of fonts and colors, no click-to-edit slide, and no "text to carousel" tab on that page. If the carousel already exists as a file, AuthoredUp can be the publisher and the preview. If the carousel does not exist, AuthoredUp does not design it.

Supergrow documents the carousel as an editor on the same Pro card as the writing. The feature page's path is pick a template, edit the text in place, apply a brand kit, then schedule or publish. They list 50+ layouts, grouped as thought leadership, frameworks, case studies, and lists. You can save your own layout. The brand kit stores hex colors, font weights, and a logo, and they say one click applies it across the deck. Agencies can keep more than one kit. The editor can duplicate, delete, and reorder slides, and you can upload an image or use their library. A first comment can be scheduled with the carousel. The hero also shows a Text to Carousel tab beside Templates and Save, so a generation path sits next to the gallery. They do not publish a credit cost or a monthly carousel cap. Do not invent one.

Their marketing says the deck ships with no PDF download and no upload step. The preview dialog on the same page still shows Images, PDF, and Attach to post. Treat direct publish as the path they sell. Treat the PDF action as something the preview still offers. Their "3x more engagement than text-only posts" line is their claim. It is not a measurement this page repeats.

QuotaNone. An attachment is not metered as a generationNone published
Company pageYes, pages you admin, no per-page chargeConfirm in their help docs if the document must go out as a page. The public cards lead with member accounts and, on Teams, publish-on-behalf

The practical test is one deck you would actually post. If that deck already lives in Figma, Canva, or a PDF on disk, AuthoredUp's attachment row is enough, and Supergrow's maker is optional. If the deck is still an outline in a notes app, Supergrow Pro is the card that includes the maker. AuthoredUp Individual will format the caption and will not draw the slides. A Canva-export workflow, and where a generator replaces that export, is covered in Canva to LinkedIn carousel.

Where Boykli sits on writing and carousels

Boykli's public seats are BYOK at $29/month and Managed at $88/month. Both seats are the same product. Managed includes monthly caps: 210 posts, 150 carousels, 150 images, 25 Voice Agent sessions, and 130 post refinements. BYOK uses your OpenRouter key for chat and images and your Google AI Studio key for Voice Agent. Boykli does not add a generation cap on that seat. You still pay those providers. A paid seat is required before the app will write, create a carousel or image, publish, or schedule. Logged-in visitors can browse Radar and Algorithm without one. There is no 7-day full-product trial that mirrors Supergrow, and there is no card-free editor trial that mirrors AuthoredUp.

The price order on a single profile is AuthoredUp Individual ($19.95), then Boykli BYOK ($29), then Supergrow Pro ($39), then Boykli Managed ($88), then Supergrow Teams ($199). Sticker order is useless until you know whether you are buying an editor, a template deck, or a generated PDF. Managed at $88 is the seat where the carousel count is explicit: 150 generations in the month. Supergrow publishes no carousel cap. AuthoredUp does not generate the deck, so it has nothing to meter.

One week, one post, one document

Do this with a source you would actually publish. A customer call, a chapter, or a video you already shipped is enough. A blank "thought leadership" prompt is a bad test, because it hides the difference between an editor and a generator.

  1. Write down the point in one sentence before you open a tool. If you cannot, neither product will invent a point you are willing to sign. The longer version of that constraint is why Boykli was built.
  2. Count last month. How many posts did you type yourself, how many were still an empty Monday, and how many document posts did you ship? The largest number is the product.
  3. If you typed them, open AuthoredUp. Paste the draft. Apply bold, italics, and lists. Read the desktop and mobile preview, including the fold. Check the readability grade. Drop a saved snippet or a hook from their library only if it matches the sentence you already wrote. Attach the PDF if the deck already exists. Schedule through the extension, including a company page or a group if that is the destination. Come back when the reminder fires. AuthoredUp will not write the carousel for you.
  4. If Monday was empty and the deck was empty, open Supergrow Pro. Run Postcast, or drop in the YouTube video, article, or PDF. Read every draft against the sentence from step 1. Content DNA is a voice profile, not a fact checker. Then open the carousel maker: pick a layout or the Text to Carousel tab, replace the lines, apply the kit, and read the slides at phone width. Their page says the templates are mobile-first. Queue the post and the first comment from the same seat. Approvals wait until Teams.
  5. If you want the sentences and the PDF generated from that same source, and you will post as yourself, open Boykli on a paid seat. Use the write mode that matches the source: short, medium, or long from notes, YouTube, article, document, or series, or Voice Agent if the source is a conversation. Set the brand kit on the carousel page. Create the PDF. Read every slide. If a sentence is wrong, change the source and create again. There is no click-to-edit canvas. Put the caption and the document on the personal-profile queue. You choose the days, the time of day, and the timezone. The queue does not attach a first comment, does not post as a company page, and does not read your analytics.
  6. Keep the measurement where it already lives. If the subscription feels worth it because of saves, sends, and a heatmap of your own hours, that screen is AuthoredUp. If it feels worth it because of a weekly report next to Engage, that screen is Supergrow Pro. Boykli will not reconstruct either review. Using Boykli as a cheaper analytics seat wastes the month.
  7. Split the stack only when each tool has a job you will do this week. A reasonable split is Boykli or Supergrow for the draft and the deck, then AuthoredUp for the fold, the bold, and the stats, if you already pay for the editor. Paying all three so each one can "also" do the others' job is how the invoice grows without a finished post.

A clean solo stack is one of these. AuthoredUp Individual when you write, you want the preview, and the carousel is a file you already have. Supergrow Pro when the $39 seat has to include the interview, the template carousel maker, Engage, and a weekly report. Boykli when the hour disappears before a draft and a PDF exist, and you will put your name on both.

What you give up when you pick one

AuthoredUp's signup line says the product is not an automation suite. The pricing table matches that: reminders to engage, no comment-credit system, no auto-DM, no connection requests. Scheduling runs through the Chrome extension. If the extension is not available when the slot arrives, confirm that constraint in their help center before you treat the calendar as a server-side queue. Company pages and groups are the reason many operators stay. Boykli and the Supergrow cards reviewed here do not replace that page-and-group row.

Supergrow's FAQ says the product connects through LinkedIn's official API and does not scrape or run bots. That is their claim about account safety. It does not make Engage, an auto first comment, or publish-on-behalf the same action as a queue that posts one document you approved. Read the current help docs for what Engage actually sends. Do not treat a vendor's "safe" line as a guarantee.

Boykli publishes to the personal profile you connect with LinkedIn OAuth. It does not comment, like, connect, or message. It does not keep a Content DNA profile built from old posts, and Voice Agent does not become that profile on the next session. It does not import an AuthoredUp snippet library, a saved Supergrow template, or either vendor's analytics history. Posts that already went live stay on LinkedIn. Export what you still need before you cancel.

FAQ

Which is cheaper for writing and carousels, AuthoredUp or Supergrow?

AuthoredUp Individual is $19.95 a month, or $16.63 on the yearly card. Supergrow Pro is $39 a month, or $31 yearly. The cheaper card is AuthoredUp, and it is the editor. The carousel maker, Content DNA, unlimited Postcast, Engage, and the weekly report are on Supergrow Pro. Paying $19.95 and expecting a designed deck is the mismatch. Paying $39 and only using the text box is the other one.

Does AuthoredUp write the LinkedIn post?

You write it. The plan includes a hook library, endings, and unlimited snippets. Coauthor, the AI assistant, is closed beta, with credits on every plan and more as an add-on. It is not Supergrow's Postcast, and it is not a weekly generator with a published volume. Confirm the current credit rules on AuthoredUp's site before you staff a calendar on it.

Does AuthoredUp make carousels?

It attaches documents, images, GIFs, video, polls, and events. A PDF you designed elsewhere can go out with the post. The pricing page does not list a template gallery, a slide brand kit, or a text-to-carousel generator. Supergrow's carousel maker is that missing piece, on Pro.

Does Supergrow still have a $19 Starter plan without carousels?

Not on the pricing page checked for this article. The public plans are Pro at $39, Teams at $199 for five accounts, and custom Enterprise. The comparison table puts the carousel maker, Content DNA, unlimited Postcast, Engage, and profile analytics in the block that applies to every current plan.

Can I edit the slides after they are generated?

In Supergrow, yes. The feature page describes click-to-edit text, image swaps, and reordering, on top of the template. In AuthoredUp, you edit the file in the tool that designed it and attach it again. In Boykli, you change the source and create the PDF again. If the work is moving one text box on a saved master, Supergrow's editor is the instrument built for that.

Do these tools post as a company page?

AuthoredUp does. Company pages you admin are included on every plan, with their own dashboard, and you can post into a group. Boykli schedules the personal profile you connect. Supergrow's public cards are written around creator and executive accounts, with Teams adding publish-on-behalf. If a company page is the whole point, AuthoredUp is the row that states it. Confirm the other two in their current help docs before you cancel a page workflow.

What does Boykli cost next to these two?

BYOK is $29 a month on your model keys. Managed is $88 a month and includes 150 carousel generations, 210 posts, 150 images, 25 Voice Agent sessions, and 130 post refinements. AuthoredUp Individual at $19.95 is the editor, the preview, and the analytics, with no slide designer. Supergrow Pro at $39 is the template carousel maker, the voice interview, Engage, and a weekly report, with no published carousel cap. Managed is the seat with a stated carousel count. It does not include AuthoredUp's formatter or Supergrow's template editor.

Will my snippets, templates, or voice profile move?

No. Boykli cannot import AuthoredUp snippets, a hook library, a Supergrow brand kit, a saved template, or a Content DNA profile. Supergrow says an unused trial pauses the account rather than deleting it. AuthoredUp says a cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the billing cycle. Neither policy is a migration path.
